Hexacolor v2.5
Using Hexacolor you can mix your desired color using RGB 0-255 or RGB percentages [like the ones used in QuarkXPress®] and you can easily convert RGB 0-255 values to RGB percentage values or vice versa, just by clicking the % tick box.

Hexacolor will show you the Hexadecimal value for the color you have chosen in the Hex # field. While you can copy this value you can not define a color using this field.

Hexacolor also allows you to mix your color in CMYK or any of the other supported color spaces on your computer, by clicking on the small four colored square next to the Reset button. Once you have defined your new color, you can then use the Compare button to see how your color would look when it is shown on a 256 color screen [WebSafe].

Hexacolor will show the original color you chose on the left and the nearest WebSafe one on the right. If you then push the convert button, Hexacolor will change the RGB and Hex values to match the websafe option shown in the right hand color chip.

Hide-Out! v2.1
IMPORTANT! Hide-Out! v2.0 is NOT compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Please download v.2.1 which is now available on this site. This new version works with Tiger and should also work with previous OS X versions too.

When you first run Hide-Out! you will be asked for a name and password for your new hideout folder. Hide-Out! will then proceed to make the new folder and it will place it in the same directory as the Hide-Out! application [you MUST keep your hideout folder in the same directory as the application and DO NOT put the Hide-Out! application inside the folder that gets hidden!].

To use your new hideout just place the items you want to hide into your hideout folder and then click the Hide button in the window. The Status: line will indicate that your hideout is invisible and your hideout folder will disappear.

To make your Hide-Out! visible again, just type in your password and then click the Show button in the window. The Status: line will show that your hideout is visible and you hideout folder will reappear.

You can change the password attached to your hideout folder only while the folder is visible. To do this, choose New Password from the File menu and then just type in the new password you want to use before you click the Hide button. If you do not key anything into the password field before you press Hide, then your old password will remain the active one.

The password field is not case sensitive, so HIDEout and hideOUT would both be valid to show the folder again. If you should forget your password, you will not be able to make the hideout folder visible again without using the terminal application.
